Self-driving Waymos lead to less crashes

Waymo provides self-driving car rides with lower crash rates. Its June 2026 update covered more than 220 million driverless miles through March across five service areas. Waymo reported 82% fewer crashes involving an injury and 94% fewer crashes causing serious or fatal injuries per mile compared with human driving benchmarks for those areas.
